When people search for an ATV tour in Istanbul, they are usually looking for the same thing. A few hours out of the city, some dust and mud, and a view of forest or sea at the end of the track. You can find all of that in Sarıyer, on the northern edge of Istanbul, where Belgrade Forest runs down towards the Black Sea.
Here is how the ATV tours at Kerem Bey Horse Farm work, what they cost and what to expect if it is your first time.
ATV or quad bike?
Both words describe the same machine, a four-wheeled off-road vehicle you ride like a motorbike. ATV (all-terrain vehicle) is the American name, quad bike the British one. Whether you search for an ATV safari, a quad bike tour or quad biking in Istanbul, you are looking at the same experience.
Where to go quad biking in Istanbul
Some of the places for an ATV or quad bike safari in Istanbul are in the north of the city, around Belgrade Forest and Kilyos. Our farm is in Sarıyer, right next to Kilyos, so you get forest tracks and the Black Sea coast without a long drive out of the city.
Where the tours go
All tours start at the farm in Uskumruköy, Sarıyer, close to Kilyos and Zekeriyaköy. From there they head out on tracks at the edge of Belgrade Forest (Belgrad Ormanı), the large protected forest north of the city. The longer tours continue to the Black Sea coast or deeper into the forest.
Forest tour, 30 or 45 minutes
The forest tour is the classic first ride. You follow dirt tracks among the trees, with enough bumps and bends to keep it fun. The 30 minute version is a first taste, and the 45 minute version gives you more time on the same track.
Beach tour, 60-90 minutes
The beach tour runs from the forest down to the Black Sea coast. It is longer, more varied and ends with the open sea in front of you.
Belgrade Forest tour, 60-90 minutes
The Belgrade Forest tour heads deeper into the woods. Choose this one if you want the most forest and the least of everything else.
ATV tour prices for 2026, and two-seater rides
These prices are in Turkish lira and are per ATV, not per person.
| Tour | Duration | Price per ATV |
|---|---|---|
| Forest tour | 30 min | 2,000 TL |
| Forest tour | 45 min | 2,500 TL |
| Beach tour | 60-90 min | 4,000 TL |
| Belgrade Forest tour | 60-90 min | 4,000 TL |
| Extra passenger | per ATV | 500 TL |
If you want a two-seater ride, two people can share one ATV, with one driving and one on the back. So two friends sharing one ATV on the 30 minute forest tour pay 2,000 TL plus 500 TL for the passenger. You can compare these with the horse rides on our prices page, and see every route with photos on the ATV tours page.
Your first time on an ATV
You do not need any off-road experience. Every tour is guided, and before you set off you are given a helmet and protective gear, then a short driving briefing and a practice run so you know how to start, brake and steer. After that you follow the guide at a pace that suits the group.
A few tips help.
- Wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty. Dust and mud are part of the fun, especially after rain.
- Wear closed shoes, not sandals.
- Bring a light jacket, it can be cooler in the forest and windy on the coast.
- Check the Turkish State Meteorological Service forecast the day before. Tracks get muddy after rain.
- If children are coming, or if you have questions about age or a driving licence, ask us on WhatsApp before you book.
ATV, horse riding and breakfast on the same day
A group does not have to choose. If you are planning a group day, the events page shows what the farm can organise. Some can drive an ATV while others ride horses on the same forest and coast routes. If you have never ridden a horse, the beginner forest ride is a calm 30 minutes, and the beach ride is the one to pick for sunset. Our horse riding in Istanbul guide explains every route.
After the tour you can stay for breakfast or grills at the farm restaurant. If you want to see more of the area, our guide to things to do in Sarıyer has a simple day plan.
Getting there
The farm is at Uskumruköy, Ayvacık Sk., 34450 Sarıyer. Take the Northern Marmara Motorway (Kuzey Marmara Otoyolu) and leave at the Uskumruköy toll gates. From there it is 5-10 minutes to the farm.
